A Trolley Problem
A downloadable game for Windows and macOS
To anyone who wants to play this game, please read the following.
I made a massive mistake. I'm sorry to any Windows users, as I thought that the game would work for that platform with the application file and that it would automatically switch (it does say "Windows, Mac, Linux" in the Unity editor, after all). Apparently, it does not. Luckily, I now have a build that does work with Windows, but it cannot be submitted due to the time limit. I wish that I knew this earlier. It is now fixed, and the Windows version of the game is now playable.
I did my best to get this out on time, so I'm sorry in advance for this game being unfinished. One bug of note is that the popcorn mechanic does not work. I have tried everything I can, but the idiotic OnTriggerEnter code is preventing me from doing so. If any of you are willing to help in the comments, please do. I did also find another glitch that makes the game substantially easier (and actually beatable on the popcorn levels), but I would recommend you not use it to get in order to get the intended experience. Apart from that, enjoy my first game jam game!
[PLOT]
You are the conductor of the Ember Express, a train that crosses through the mountainous mesas of the Empire of Scaldia. Everything is going smoothly, until bandits hijack your train and you are thrown into the caboose. Now, you have to make your way back to the engine room before the runaway train derails by stopping the bandits from stealing all of the precious goods on the train.
[GIMMICK]
In this puzzle platformer, you can create train tracks between different objects, linking them in a movement loop. You can use these to create lifts, light up dark areas, and press out-of-reach buttons while going on mad dashes through the 5 cars of the Ember Express, each with a unique surprise in store.

Install instructions
For MacOS users: just get the .zip file downloaded, unzip it, and play the .app file.
For Windows users: thinking of a solution. I don't want to upload another file in fear of disqualification (even though it is the same game), but I will make something eventually. UPDATE: Unzip the .zip file, and go to the .exe file inside of the folder to play.
For Linux users: sorry, there is no Linux build.
